Dr. Abdulraheem Yacoub
Abdulraheem Yacoub, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center with a clinical focus on hematologic malignancies and cellular therapeutics. He received his medical degree from University of Jordan University in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Yacoub had residency training at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman and University of Saint Louis in Missouri. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Arkansas.
Dr. Yacoub's primary research interest over the years has been in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical and translational trials evaluating new therapeutic agents and modalities in patients with hematologic neoplasms. He has a particular passion regarding myeloproliferative neoplasms and other myeloid cancers.
Dr. Yacoub has participated many clinical trials in the fields of lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome and acute leukemia. He is an active member in several cancer-related organizations including the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group and the Myeloproliferative Diseases Research Consortium, and is robustly involved in the leukemia and lymphoma committees.
